Many people watch the Superbowl just for the commercials and this year was no different. Many companies had different types of commercials but there was one that caught my eye. Watch the video below and then I’ll expand on why this RAM trucks ad caught my attention.
So what caught my attention with this particular commercial. It stood out! The voice is not a typical voice over touting the various features of a product. Instead, the narrator tells a story about the insane amount of work that farmers do every day to feed our country and keep their families strong.
Another thing that really caught my attention with this commercial was the fact it wasn’t flashy. In fact, the commercial is mostly still pictures with very little movement, just enough to keep your attention. How many other Superbowl commercials did this? Combined with the voice, it was a very different commercial that definitely stood out.
The video does a great job of relating to every day people as well. “I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk cows, work all day in the field, milk cows again, eat supper, then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board.” People are busy these days and I bet a lot of people can relate to that line. Even if they aren’t farmers, many people have jam packed schedules.
Of course, this ad isn’t for farmers. It is for RAM Trucks. The commercial shows how RAM Trucks are a lot like farmers. They’re tough, hardy and built very well in order to continue completing their tasks for a very long period of time. I think RAM Trucks did a great job with this commercial because I still remember it days after the Superbowl.
Do you remember seeing the RAM Trucks commercial during the Superbowl? What made it stick out to you?

Loved this commercial! Our society sometimes glorifies only the “fancy pants” jobs, I guess you would call them, or the Hollywood moguls, and this commercial, to me, was a good representation of alot of people in America. And the Budweiser horse ones are always favorites around here too…
