My name is Lance and I’m the voice behind the blog. I was a long time reader of many personal finance blogs until one day I decided I needed start my own. My goal? I strive to make the blog I wanted to read.

My financial background helps me enormously when writing articles here on Money Life and More. I’ve been interested in business and money for as long as I can remember. As a kid I was a “little entrepreneur” with my lemonade stands, pet sitting and lawn care businesses. None of them made a ton of money but what do you expect from a 3rd grader? I later learned how to make money from a hobby, Magic: the Gathering. I’ll admit, I was a little bit nerdy as a kid.

Financially I have done well for myself. I began working during the summer before my senior year of high school at a pizza restaurant. I learned a lot of interesting lessons while I worked there. I saved almost all of my money for my first car and I saved the rest for college. I graduated from college debt free. Generous help from my parents paid half of my way through college. In order to pay my half I worked every summer and worked during school for a couple semesters. In addition, I applied to and won many scholarships worth thousands of dollars in aid.

I am currently in my mid twenties and graduated from college with a degree in business accounting just a few short years ago. After graduating I worked for a couple public accounting firms completing tax returns for individuals and businesses, auditing financial statements of businesses and worked as a consultant with many multi-million dollar businesses. I studied for and passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam while working 55+ hours a week and became a licensed CPA in the state I lived in at the time. I now work in corporate accounting.
