October 2012 Monthly Goals UpdateIt seems like everyone updates their goals, net worth and other similar posts all on the first day of the month and honestly it is a bit much when I read through the hundred plus blogs I follow so I have moved my update to mid month. Hopefully this works out better for everyone!

Lose Weight, Eat Healthier, and Exercise

According to my last update I had lost 5 pounds total and weighed 220 lbs. My goal was to maintain my weight or lose up to 5 lbs in September because I had a lot going on and not gaining weight would be a big accomplishment.

I kind of did well but kind of stunk as far as eating healthier went. I have quit eating quite as much prepackaged food for meals. I haven’t had hardly any frozen meals in September which is a good thing. The bad thing is I have been eating a lot more sweets, especially candy corn which I love!

I haven’t been doing great with exercising but I have been walking our dog almost daily and I do the yard work every weekend now so that helps at least a little bit.

I wasn’t sure how my weight goal was going to go this month because our old cheap scale finally broke. I got a new one on the second to last day of the month and when I weighed myself on September 30th I found out I had lost one pound and was 219 lbs! YAY!

For the next month my goal once again is to not gain any weight. I have quite a few things going on once again so not gaining any weight would be a huge success.

Quit Being So Lazy!

I’m was hoping to have my motorcycle fixed by the end of last month and I just didn’t get around to working on it at all. I mentioned that I might need to pay to get it fixed but I really want to try myself first.

My other goal for last month was to get my last 2 regular doors cut, painted and hung. I did get them cut but the weekends were either jam packed busy or threatened rain so I haven’t had a chance to paint them yet. Once they’re painted we’ll be able to hang them and get them hung pretty quickly hopefully.

As a reader has pointed out recently I work very hard on this blog and it is where a ton of my free time goes. For that reason I’m going to get rid of this section of goals. It isn’t that I’m lazy by not getting these tasks completed, I’m just choosing to spend my free time in different ways.

Blog Goals

Twitter

As of my last update I had 211 twitter followers. Last month my goal was to reach 275 Twitter followers. I barely squeaked by last month and ended up with 277 twitter followers.

I think a reasonable goal by the next update is 350 Twitter followers. With any luck I should be able to obtain this. So, if you haven’t followed me on twitter yet I’d really appreciate you helping me to reach my goal!

Feed Subscribers

Feed subscribers are much harder to gain. As of my last update I had 111 RSS feed subscribers and hoped to have 150 RSS feed subscribers by this update. This one was a close call but as of September 30 I had 156 RSS feed subscribers!

This isn’t my main goal but I definitely like seeing the numbers go up. For my next update I hope to have 200 feed subscribers by mid October. So, again, if you haven’t subscribed to my RSS feed yet I’d really appreciate you helping me to reach my end of October goal!

September 2012 Monthly Goal Update

Welcome to my second monthly goal update! Let’s get straight to my goals for this month.

Lose Weight, Eat Healthier, and Exercise

According to my last update I had lost 7 pounds so far and weighed 218 lbs. August was an interesting month and for the majority of it I managed to maintain my weight of 218 lbs. Then came our mini vacation to Disney World. When I got back from Disney World I was up to 222 lbs! YIKES!

I had about a week until the end of August and did my best and got back down to 220 lbs which is still a weight gain of 2 lbs… boo!

I’ve had a lot going on recently and while it would be awesome to lose weight I’m going to aim to stay in the 215-220lb range for this month. If I can manage that I feel I’m doing well.

Therefore my goal for September is to not gain any weight and potentially lose up to five pounds. I feel this is very reasonable.

Quit Being So Lazy!

According to my last update, my number one priority when I turn back to this list was my motorcycle so that I can ride it when it cools off in the fall. Did it get done in August?

It didn’t get completed but I did get started again. I took a bunch of pictures and asked a forum of owners of my motorcycle and we’re starting to get somewhere. I’m hoping to have this fixed by the end of this month. If I can’t I think I’m going to have to pay to get it fixed.

My other goal for this month is to get my last 2 regular doors cut, painted and hung. After that I will still have 3 closet doors left, but one step at a time.

Blog Goals

Twitter

As of my last update I had 171 twitter followers. This time I shot for the stars and tried for 300 Twitter followers. Instead I fell flat on my face! As of September 1 I only had 211 twitter followers… whoops!

This time I’m going to be a bit more reasonable and shoot for 275 Twitter followers. I still think it is a bit aggressive but it should be a bit more attainable than my last goal. So, if you haven’t followed me on twitter yet I’d really appreciate you helping me to reach my end of August goal!

Feed subscribers are much harder to gain. As of my last update I had 76 RSS feed subscribers and hoped to have 100 RSS feed subscribers by this update. This one was a close call but as of September 1 I had 111 RSS feed subscribers!

August 2012 Monthly Goal Update

Welcome to my first monthly goal update! In the past I was updating my goals weekly but it seemed like a bit much and became very redundant. Now that I’m only updating you guys monthly I feel like it will be much more interesting to see how I’ve been doing! So let’s get started.

Lose Weight, Eat Healthier, and Exercise

According to my last update I had lost 7 pounds so far. I haven’t shared my weight yet but now that I am only updating monthly it is a lot harder to remember where I am at so here it goes! I’m about 6 feet tall and as of my last update I weighed 218 lbs. When I started monitoring my goal I weighed 225 lbs and at the beginning of the year I was at 230 lbs.

My goal for July was to lose 3 more pounds to get back down to 215 lbs but I didn’t come anywhere close to that. Instead I have stayed the same and maintained my weight of 218 lbs.

So what happened? I’ve been trying to get so much done lately that something had to give. Instead of focusing on losing weight I switched to maintaining my weight for July after about a week in. I let myself eat some junk food and eat out a bit more to get it out of my system and plan to return to trying to lose weight in August.

My goal for August is to lose 4 lbs which should take me down to 214 lbs.

Quit Being So Lazy!

I wanted to try to get my motorcycle throttle handle fixed and continue hanging some doors. I had 2 regular doors and 3 closet doors left to go. I needed to cut them, paint them and hang them.

Again like my previous goal I was pretty burned out this month and decided to put these projects on hold. I’ve been spending so much time on my next goal that none of these got done. I would say that I’ve been much more productive, just not on these tasks.

My number one priority when I turn back to this list will be my motorcycle so that I can ride it when it cools off in the fall. Will it get done in August? I don’t know, but if I work on anything in this list the motorcycle should be it!

Blog Goals

Alexa

My main goal for my blog was to get my Alexa rank to go down below 200,000. My ranking was 206,643 as of my last update and I am very happy to report I have absolutely smashed the 200,000 mark and my current Alexa rank as of yesterday was 125,704!

The main reason for this goal was to qualify to become a member after successfully completing the Yakezie Challenge! Now that I have reached my Alexa rank goal I will continue to try to maintain my ranking below 200,000 but other than that Alexa rank is no longer that important to me so I won’t be updating this anymore. Thanks for all of your support!

Twitter

As of my last update I had 112 twitter followers. I set a goal that I thought was unreasonable at the time, to have 150 twitter followers on July 31. Well I smashed this goal too and currently have 171 followers as of last night!

So this time I think I need to set my sights a bit higher. If I don’t quite get to this goal I’ll be OK with it but I am going to try my hardest. My goal for the end of August is to have 300 twitter followers. So, if you haven’t followed me on twitter yet I’d really appreciate you helping me to reach my end of August goal!

Feed Subscribers

Feed subscribers are much harder to gain. As of my last update I had 55 RSS feed subscribers and hoped to have 75 RSS feed subscribers by this update. This one was a close call but as of last night I have 76 RSS feed subscribers!

I haven’t been focusing on this goal as much so I’d like to keep it reasonable. I hope to have 100 feed subscribers by the end of August. So, again, if you haven’t subscribed to my RSS feed yet I’d really appreciate you helping me to reach my end of August goal!

The Last Weekly Goal Update for Now… #11

I really enjoy updating you all on my goals but after 11 weeks I have noticed that weekly goal updates are probably a bit much. From now on I will be updating you all on my goals monthly. This way I feel like I’ll hopefully have more progress to update you all on.

Lose Weight, Eat Healthier, and Exercise

According to my last update I had lost 7 pounds so far. My other goal was to eat out no more than two times per week. I only ate out once this week and it was last night at Sonny’s BBQ. I made sure to get a smaller than normal meal. I’ve also been trying to eat healthier at home. I’ve been trying to eat more vegetables with my dinners and I think it is helping.

The good/bad news is that I didn’t gain any weight but I also didn’t lose any weight so I’m still at 7 pounds lost in total.

So where do I want to be at the beginning of August? My goal will be to be down to a total of 10 pounds lost overall. This will be my main goal for this section.

Quit Being So Lazy!

This week I wanted to finish the toilet, hang another door and put a fake door knob on the air handler closet door.

Well I completed the hardest tasks, hanging the door, on the Fourth of July. Unfortunately I did not complete the two easier tasks.

So what are my goals for the rest of this month? I want to try to get my motorcycle throttle handle fixed. After that I’ll have to see if I can get it running again which may be a much larger task. I want to continue working on hanging more doors in my house. I have 2 regular doors and 3 closet doors left to go. I have to cut them, paint them and hang them.

Blog Goals

My main goal for my blog is to get my Alexa rank to go down below 200,000. My ranking was 226,186 last Friday and as of yesterday it was down to 206,643. Only 6,644 to go! I should be down below 200,000 next update!

Last week I had 102 twitter followers. As of last night I was at 112 followers. Realistically I’d like to be at 150 followers at the beginning of August. This is a tall order but I think I may be able to reach it.

Last week I was at 55 readers according to feedburner. Last night I was still at 55 readers so I still have a ways to go to my next goal of 75 readers.

Weekly Goal Update #10

Lose Weight, Eat Healthier, and Exercise

According to my last update I had lost 6 pounds so far. My other goal was to eat out no more than two times per week. Well this week went better than last but I’m still not back on track. Last weekend we went out to lunch at a local touristy restaurant. It was really good and we’ll probably be headed back. We had some guests at work yesterday and we took them out to lunch. That was the last time I was allowed to go out this week.

When I got home I was pretty tired so we just decided to go out to TGI Friday’s for dinner. Well there goes my goal. The service was horrible and they got rid of their 3 course meal that we’d normally share so I was pretty bummed. The server was really really bad and almost seemed like he was pissed off at the world… but that has nothing to do with the fact that I failed my goal of only eating out twice this week.

The good news is that I did lose a pound so I’m back down to 7 pounds total!

Quit Being So Lazy!

My goal here was to hang a door and replace the upstairs toilet. I did take out the old toilet and put the new one in this past week but it isn’t done yet. I still have to find my level to level it and then caulk around the bottom so the toilet so right now it is about 90% done. I did not get the other door done though but should have plenty of time this weekend.

For next week I am going to finish the toilet and actually hang the door. I am getting a new AC unit installed today so I’ll have to do some work on on the air handler closet door as well. I think I’m going to have to replace the door knob with a fake handle.

Blog Goals

My only blog goal for last week was to continue to have my Alexa rank go down. My ranking was 256,782 last Friday and as of yesterday it was down to 226,186. Only 26,187 to go!

I added a couple new goals last week and here is an update.

The first is twitter followers. Last week I had 93 twitter followers and my goal was 100 followers. As of last night I was at 102 followers. I think the next big goal is 200 followers but it may take a while.

The second is RSS readers. Last week I thought I was at 45 readers according to feedburner and I set my goal at 50. Turned out that on Saturday morning I was already at 50 subscribers so I change my goal to 75! Last night I was at 55 readers so I still have a ways to go.
