Recently I’ve gotten into the bad habit of wasting time on something that adds no productivity to my days. In fact… it significantly lowers my productivity. Even though I know that I continue to do the activity. Unfortunately it is addictive.
What have I gotten myself into? I am ashamed to admit I have started to play Facebook games again. At first it was Farkle and then I explored Bejeweled Blitz. They’re mindless and a good way to relax but you can’t play just one game. One game turns into five and then 15 and BAM! 30 minutes are gone. I’m sure I’ll get sick of these games soon. I just can’t get sucked into any new ones.

The Free Financial Advisor finally has us Meet Average Joe. Joe had to blog anonymously but is now out of the closet. He has a ton of credentials and media experience if you were wondering.
Finally, Financial Samurai wrote about The Main Reasons to Borrow Money Through Peer-to-Peer Lending. I am considering getting into P2P lending so it was an interesting read.

Ah! Another one! I never played Facebook games so I had forgotten about those but I will add that to the list of “things I don’t like about Facebook and why I am glad I deactivated my account.”

Haha guess you missed a part of the analysis of buying an iPhone
I had to stop playing Farkle. I could literally spend hours of my life in front of that game. That one, Family Feud, and The Price is Right were taking over my entire life.
I do still play Bejeweled sometimes; I don’t play the FB version much though. I own Bejeweled 3 and the butterflies mini game is perfect for times when I’m on the phone and can’t do anything that requires concentration (or when my connection is down.) And don’t even get me started on Plants vs. Zombies…..
Okay, I need to quit thinking about this stuff before I waste my entire day. I am resisting the urge to play “just one game” of Farkle!
Bejewelled is so freaking addictive! I played it for 5 hours solid once, without even realising what was going on!!

I recently got totally addicted to an iPhone game called Knights of Camelot. I still get on every now and then (for no reason… is there ever one other than to check out?:-)
My wife and I recently had a baby (he’s 5 months old now) and for the first couple of months all I did when I wasn’t changing a diaper or helping my wife somehow, was play KoC. I never slept. It was crazy.
At least you were honest about it. I’m not sure I’m willing yet to admit that I had a problem…
