Random Thoughts
Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons because they are the transition between the long day, hot and humid Summer days and the very short dry, cold (cool to the rest of the country) Winter days. It seems like Spring and Fall are always so short but that is probably because the change is gradual and it doesn’t set in all at once.
It finally felt like Fall a couple days this week. I live down in Florida so it takes a while to get into the Fall season. When I lived up in Virginia the official fall feeling began when the leaves started to change colors and fall off the trees.
We don’t have many trees with leaves that change colors down here in Florida. The only way we have to mark the changing seasons is when the days get shorter and it gets a bit cooler and less humid outside. Well, other than the dwindling number of tourists… I went out in my back yard barefoot and the grass was actually cold! It feels really nice and I welcome the cooler, but not too cold, weather in between Summer and Winter.
I’ll enjoy the change in the seasons but once Winter gets here I’ll probably be sick of the cooler weather and short days again and wish for it to be Summer again. It’d be neat if all four seasons occurred twice a year! That way it’d be just enough change to keep me happy and I’d enjoy the different seasons rather than get sick of them.
Round Up
Elle at Couple Money interviewed me this week (Money Life and More Interview) as part of her Sunday Blogger Series. Head on over and check it out to learn more about me. If you still want to learn even more about me check out my aptly titled About page.
Brandon at Bargaineering is running a series about someone who Handwrote 100 Letters to Get Free McDonald’s Monopoly Game Pieces. There is a part two that is currently published as well as a part three which is yet to be published but I thought this was interesting. I can’t wait to see if he gets the 100 envelopes back with game pieces and how much his winnings from those game pieces end up being.
Evan at My Journey to Millions wrote about Where the NFL Owners Obtained Their Wealth. It is very interesting to see how the 32 teams became owned and how the owners managed to get enough money to purchase the team or how the people they inherited them from bought them.
Michelle at Making Sense of Cents wants to know Should She Still Blog Anonymously? I say go for it and let your friends know. Maybe post a picture on your blog but don’t go put it on a billboard. It is an interesting questions for bloggers and for anyone who writes anything on the internet.
Joe at Retire by Forty found out He Just Spent $25 to Save 43 Cents a Month… whoops. Maybe these power vampires you hear about aren’t as bad as you thought. He borrowed a Kill-a-Watt meter from his library and found out what his power use was.
Carnivals
Below are all of the carnivals that I was included in this week… well, at least those that I could find or I got ping backs on. If you hosted a carnival that I was included in this week and I missed it please let me know and I’ll add it below!
Carnival of Financial Camaderie, Yakezie Carnival, Financial Carnival for Young Adults, Carnival of Money Pros, Carnival of Retirement and Lifestyle Carnival included my post Two Huge Problems with Dividend Stocks Right Now.
Festival of Frugality included my post Should I Pay Off My Car Loan Update!
Enjoy your weekend!

Some great reads there. Since we moved to Texas, I miss autumn in the northern part of the country. It lasts longer here, but the colors aren’t as vibrant. That said, spring in Texas is awesome. It seems to last forever…..

Thanks for mentioning my post!
We have the same problem in southern California. I go by the date on the calendar to know when a season should change. Sometimes the weather does not cooperate. Last week , we had 100 degree weather for a few days. Global warming or weather changes, it is hot too late in the year!

I like the changing of seasons too although I seem to not tolerate the cold like I used to. I do like the way the leaves change colour though. Our neighbourhood is so pretty.

I like Spring and Fall, too. However, sometimes Spring in GA gives me seasonal allergies. They are not always fun. You picked good posts for this roundup.
