Welcome to my second monthly goal update! Let’s get straight to my goals for this month.
Lose Weight, Eat Healthier, and Exercise
According to my last update I had lost 7 pounds so far and weighed 218 lbs. August was an interesting month and for the majority of it I managed to maintain my weight of 218 lbs. Then came our mini vacation to Disney World. When I got back from Disney World I was up to 222 lbs! YIKES!
I had about a week until the end of August and did my best and got back down to 220 lbs which is still a weight gain of 2 lbs… boo!
I’ve had a lot going on recently and while it would be awesome to lose weight I’m going to aim to stay in the 215-220lb range for this month. If I can manage that I feel I’m doing well.
Therefore my goal for September is to not gain any weight and potentially lose up to five pounds. I feel this is very reasonable.
Quit Being So Lazy!
According to my last update, my number one priority when I turn back to this list was my motorcycle so that I can ride it when it cools off in the fall. Did it get done in August?
It didn’t get completed but I did get started again. I took a bunch of pictures and asked a forum of owners of my motorcycle and we’re starting to get somewhere. I’m hoping to have this fixed by the end of this month. If I can’t I think I’m going to have to pay to get it fixed.
My other goal for this month is to get my last 2 regular doors cut, painted and hung. After that I will still have 3 closet doors left, but one step at a time.
Blog Goals
As of my last update I had 171 twitter followers. This time I shot for the stars and tried for 300 Twitter followers. Instead I fell flat on my face! As of September 1 I only had 211 twitter followers… whoops!
This time I’m going to be a bit more reasonable and shoot for 275 Twitter followers. I still think it is a bit aggressive but it should be a bit more attainable than my last goal. So, if you haven’t followed me on twitter yet I’d really appreciate you helping me to reach my end of August goal!
Feed Subscribers
Feed subscribers are much harder to gain. As of my last update I had 76 RSS feed subscribers and hoped to have 100 RSS feed subscribers by this update. This one was a close call but as of September 1 I had 111 RSS feed subscribers!
This isn’t my main goal but I definitely like seeing the numbers go up. For this month I hope to have 150 feed subscribers by the end of September. So, again, if you haven’t subscribed to my RSS feed yet I’d really appreciate you helping me to reach my end of August goal!
That’s a Wrap!
That is all I have for you this update! It feels like I just gave my August update but I guess time flies when you’re a blogger!
What goals have you set or accomplished recently? How have you been doing on them?

An accountant by day and blogger by night, Lance is the owner of this site.

Time does fly when you’re a blogger on top of your full-time job. Seems like something’s gotta give. I haven’t worked out as much as I used to before blogging, but I think I’m still doing a decent job. I don’t have any weight loss goals but still shoot to get to the gym 3+ times a week.

Sounds like a good goal to shoot for to me. I don’t go to the gym but I do walk my dog.
Lance, good luck in reaching these goals. They all seem very achievable by the end of September.

Yes, I definitely need to work on persistence!
Good goals! Just change one item you eat to a lower calorie or cut it out entirely and you will lose weight. Good luck.

This is true… I’ve been letting bad food creep into my diet again… well more bad food than normal I should say.
Good luck with your goals!! I always found goals like twitter followers were too difficult to achieve because it feels so out of my control.

It is in one sense, but at the same time if I hosted a giveaway and listed that as an entry method I bet I’d get more followers even if some leave after the giveaway is over. I need to work on making incentives.
Congrats on the feed subscribers! I’m hoping to get to 400 here in the near future but it feels like it’s taking forever! I’ve been hovering around the 370-380 range for a long time.
If you’re looking to get more Twitter followers the best way is to raid somebody’s list and follow a bunch of people. I use Friend or Follow to see who doesn’t follow me back and unfollow anybody that doesn’t after a few days. It takes a little bit of time and I haven’t done it in a few months but will probably pick it up again soon.

Sounds like an interesting strategy. Right now my followers all found me through my blog or through some other way. I’m not sure I want to employ a tactic like that but it is always an option I guess.
With the work you do on this blog, I would never consider you lazy. Four pounds on vacation isn’t terrible. I think Disney somehow gets wrapped in your psyche and probably adds a pound. It will evaporate soon, I bet. Good luck with September goals.

Thanks! I guess the blog is a lot of work, I just enjoy it so I don’t think about it that way.
Congrats on the weight loss. That is fantastic. Don’t worry about the couple that creeped up. That happens to all of us when we get out of our routine. Once you get back at things those will just fall off.
Remember it is about feeling better too and having more energy. Don’t get too strung up on the number on the scale.

Very true. I do need to get the scale number down though. Once I’m in a good BMI range I get a discount on my health insurance at work! It’ll be a while at this pace though…
My goals go a lot like yours: some I meet, some I come close, and some I fall flat. But at least having them as goals keeps you on the road to achieving them.
